WHY SCOTT SURVEYING?

  • KNOWLEDGE

Unlike most surveyors, we are specialists in giving Party Wall advice and our in-depth knowledge of the Party Wall Act 1996, has helped many building owners, architects, engineers and property developers, in the effective administration of the Act. saving large construction and legal costs.
  • COST

Our biggest piece of advice is to seek early Party Wall advice to avoid unnecessary expenditure. Many designs contain significant Party Wall shortfalls, causing further financial costs to the building owner. Early input from Scott Surveying will reduce any potential challenges by an adjoining owner, delaying the progression of various Party Wall consents and significant costs.
  • EXPERIENCE

Christopher Scott, our party wall surveyor, has practiced in the area of construction (firstly as a builder and then as a building surveyor) for some 32 years, gaining substantial experience in all areas of construction, in particular dealing with design and construction processes and construction law. Chris has 15 years of considerable experience of advising property owners, architects, engineers and property developers with regard to all aspects of the Party Wall etc. Act 1996. He has worked on a wide range of projects varying in size, type and complexity across England and Wales.
  • Scott Surveying’s early input in respect of the engineering design and temporary works to the party wall foundations ensured we satisfied party wall legislation criteria and negated potential delays to the project. We found Chris’s knowledge and experience invaluable.
    Caudles Structural Engineers, Cheltenham,
  • Our neighbours were having their house re-roofed and the roofers started taking off slates over the party wall and to our side of the boundary. We were concerned, but our neighbours and their roofers just would not engage with us. We contacted Scott Surveying and we were thrilled when Chris arrived on site only 55 minutes after our phone conversation. He handled our neighbour and roofers with great sensitivity and ensured proper procedures were followed. Not only was Chris very prompt with his actions, he was also very professional and provided excellent advice and direction
